Modern Slavery Statement
Deep Cleaning Ilford Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made on behalf of Deep Cleaning Ilford in respect of the financial year ending 31 December. It sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our own operations and throughout our supply chains. We are committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and with respect for the fundamental human rights of every individual.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Deep Cleaning Ilford provides professional cleaning and related services to residential, commercial, and public sector clients. Our activities rely on a mix of directly employed staff, casual workers, and a network of suppliers that provide cleaning materials, equipment, workwear, and specialist services. We recognise that the cleaning sector and extended supply chains can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, and we therefore take our responsibilities seriously.
Our suppliers are primarily located within the United Kingdom, though certain products and raw materials may originate from overseas manufacturers. We aim to work only with reputable partners who share our commitment to fair treatment, lawful employment practices, and the elimination of modern slavery.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Deep Cleaning Ilford has a clear zero-tolerance stance on all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage, and child labour. Any form of coercion, deception, or exploitation of individuals is wholly unacceptable and contrary to our values and the standards we expect of everyone who works for or with us.
Our zero-tolerance policy is communicated to employees, contractors, and suppliers. Compliance with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws is a non-negotiable requirement of any working relationship with our company. Where we identify concerns, we will act swiftly, including suspending or terminating relationships if necessary.
Suppliers, Due Diligence, and Audits
We are continually improving our processes to identify and manage risks of modern slavery in our supply chains. As part of our due diligence, we expect current and prospective suppliers to confirm that they have appropriate policies and controls in place to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking.
Deep Cleaning Ilford reserves the right to conduct audits or request documented evidence from suppliers demonstrating compliance with labour standards and anti-slavery requirements. These may include statements on worker recruitment practices, use of labour agencies, working conditions, wage records, and grievance mechanisms.
Where higher-risk activities or locations are identified, we may increase the level of scrutiny, carry out targeted assessments, and require additional assurances or corrective actions as a condition of continuing to do business.
Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels
We are working to build awareness across the business so that colleagues can recognise warning signs of exploitation and know how to respond. Relevant staff receive guidance on the indicators of modern slavery, such as restriction of movement, withholding of documents, excessive working hours, or unexplained deductions from wages.
All workers, whether employees, agency staff, or contractors, are encouraged to speak up if they have any concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected with our operations or supply chain. Concerns can be raised confidentially through internal reporting channels, such as line managers or senior management, or via any established whistleblowing routes within the business.
Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. We will not tolerate any form of retaliation or disadvantage against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Modern slavery risks can evolve over time, and we recognise the importance of regularly reviewing and improving our approach. This statement, together with our related policies and procedures, is reviewed at least once every year by the management team of Deep Cleaning Ilford.
As part of the annual review, we consider changes in legislation, industry guidance, and our own operating environment. We assess the effectiveness of our actions, including due diligence, supplier engagement, training, and incident response, and identify further steps we can take to strengthen our defences against modern slavery.
This statement has been approved by the management of Deep Cleaning Ilford, who are responsible for ensuring that its commitments are implemented throughout the business and that progress continues to be monitored and enhanced in future years.
